Frequently Asked Questions
1. What services do you offer? We offer both counseling (for Kentucky residents) and coaching (available nationwide) for individuals struggling with problematic sexual behavior (PSB). We also address related concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship strain.
2. What is “problematic sexual behavior”? Problematic sexual behavior (PSB) refers to patterns of sexual behavior—such as compulsive porn use, affairs, or risky sexual actions—that cause distress, impair functioning, or negatively impact relationships. At Living Rivers, we treat PSB with compassion and evidence-based care.
3. How is your approach different from other programs? We go beyond behavior management. Our approach identifies and heals the underlying emotional, relational, and spiritual wounds that drive unwanted behavior. We incorporate EMDR, CBT, faith-based counseling, and skills training to support long-term recovery.
4. Can you help if I don’t live in Kentucky? Yes! While our licensed counseling services are limited to Kentucky residents, our coaching services are available nationwide. Coaching focuses on goal setting, accountability, skill-building, and emotional wellness.
5. Do you offer Christian counseling? Yes. For those who desire it, we integrate a Christian faith-based perspective into counseling and coaching. However, we respect and welcome clients of all backgrounds and beliefs.
6. What types of therapy do you use? We use a range of evidence-based therapies including:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

10. Do you take insurance? At this time, we are a private pay practice, which means we do not accept insurance. However, we can provide superbills for potential reimbursement with your insurance provider if applicable.
11. What’s the difference between coaching and counseling? Counseling is clinical, diagnosis-based, and offered only to Kentucky residents by licensed therapists. Coaching is more flexible, goal-oriented, and open to anyone nationwide. Coaching is ideal for individuals who want guidance and accountability without a mental health diagnosis.
